As far as I know that bike comes from an earlier stage ,when "Delta" racers were run under the Monark name and sponsorship. Delta built the bikes.

Later on Monark decided to go more professional and do a real "factory made" team. Thats the Henningson era.

And then after this the last stage was where Jan Bruins was hired in to go back from a "factory made" team to a situation where a privately built machine was raced under Monark name and sponsorship.

Ciao a tutti !
I must wedge in the spoon here and Please!! be patient now boys...
I promissed to continue later and I will do a short story today then..

In the end of 1972 Kurt Ivan and the other stand in driver for Monark that year Leif "Gusten" Gustavsson were feed up
with the bike and it had alot of engine break down.
Leif was riding the bike some races in the beginning of 1973 but Monark and Leif found it not reliable enough to continue the campaign.
Therefor Monark decided to sell the bike to Bruins and put the money in Lars bike instead thet have been proved to be faster and better.
They also feelt that a Monark that allways brake down was bad advertasing for the brand, and therefore they put all eggs in the same bag sort of..
So the rest of the 1973 season Lars vas riding the Nr 1 bike and Bruins continue devellop bike Nr 2 his way.
Here is some pics from that year.
There is probably more pictures somewhere but this is
what I have at the moment.
I will continue some other day.
Greetings
Roffe

Yes Martijn, you are right about the replica,Emot frame,Emot Sachs engine and the rest of the bike came out of my huge shop.
But the monark what is in front of the replica, that is the bike i mean :woot:
Johanson claims it is the real thing, this bike has been ridden on the centennial race at Assen,at the time it was green.

@Roffe.........you wrote: I told that one of them Monarks was lost, but that was not true.
and so on............
question:
The bike owned by Johanson from wich i build a replica,is'nt this an original Monark?
I can't place a pic,but you know what i mean.

.

Hello Rene´
Yes and No.
The bike on the pic is one of the original but not in the right livery and shape...
I will continue this little episode when I have some time to do it.
I need to cover 1973 before we come to the history of this bike.
I will be back :)

Ciao a tutti !
We are still in 1972 season and Monark were running 2 Factory bikes.
It was Lars and Kurt Ivan that that raced side by side here in Joguslavia GP.
Were few pics were both bikes were together.

Good evening every body !

I will continue this little story about Monark GP50.
This photo is never showed to public before.
I recived it from Göran Henningsson the other night,
(Göran is the guy hanging over the bike..)
and he was writing that Lars and Göran was packing the bike and the spare parts together.
It was freezing cold so they jumped in the worm Volvo 145 and went back home to Sweden.
This was from their first race in 1972 in April.
The track was Nürburg Ring and it was soo cold it was almost snowing in the Nord Schleife.
Lars came 7 or 8 place.I am sorry I can not conform the right spot..(Maby some other can tell.)
Anyhow thay were pretty pleased about the debut and they had lots of stuff to talk to on their way back home.
On theit way back hom they heard a funny noice from the front end of the car but they did not bother that much..
When they arraived at home the front whell almost fell of..
It was only hanging on one!!! lose nut..  :woot:
Stupid not to check the tyres..
Thank you for the picture Göran.

To be continued.
Roffe :)
