Hallo Maurizio, Ciao Luca.

I don't really care about if the Frame is a Roar or a Minarelli Imitation/copy. In my new FIM-papers the frame-manufactrer is empty. All I wanted was to have a frame in specifications before 1983 for my watercooled p6-engine. If anybody asks me what bike am I riding - it simle is a Minarelli, as it is my PCB.

@Luca

Yes I remember that I had to solve the Problem with the chain line. First I thought that there would be enough space between chain and the pivot of the swingarm when sitting on the bike. But with a chainring of 35 teeth or less the chain touched the pivot. So I made new Mounts for the engine. The engine is now mounted 15 mm higher than it was and it is perfect. To protect the pivon I additionally made a ring of polycarbonate which I put un the Pivot before mounting ithe axle. On the pics you will see the Frame unpainted with original mountings, the Frame sprayed with new mountings and the "protector"

Hope the iformation was helpful

Best regards and Servus from Kritzendorf

Ciao Luca,

Hello Luca,

Your bike - and mine too - are replicas of the 1979 - 1981 bike with the short swingarm and the later fairing.

There are two optical differences to the original frame: one strut is missing - see at the pic - and the swingarm of the replica has a difference steel-profile. But the replica is quite similar to the original - but it is not an original! If you look to our friends in Holland or Germany - most of the fast Kreidlers are replicas and some are so near to the originals that even real experts have problems to identify.

The bike Ascareggi used in the 1982/1983 season was quite different and due to the new Frame he had a new tank and seat - easy to recognize. The bike Ascareggi uses in the historical Events is the bike of 1980/1981. I had a lot of Pictures taken at different Grand-Prix-races and Italian championship-races between 1976 and 1990. But when my Office was destroyed by fire in 1999 all pictures and race-programms and literature were also destroyed. But I remember very well the 50cc Minarelli of Ascareggi - I loved it from the first sight. The bike and the engine looked so cleaned up, far away of improvisation.

Enjoy your bike

Ciao Luca,

Ciao e servus dall'Austria

Hello XLR8
As I always loved 50 cc racing and the Italian bikes I eventually can reassure you with following information.
The bile you are going to build is a replica of Ascareggi’s 50cc Minarelli he entered in the European Championship from 1979 up to 1981(in 1979 with another fairing) In this time he shortened his swingarm for 40 mm to get better performance. For the 1982 season Jan Thiel – he worked on the 125 GP-bike – build a new frame for Ascareggi’s Minarelli.
After the death of Sig. Minarelli Garelli bought all the racing stuff of the 125 class but not the 50cc bike. Ascareggi rode a 125 MBA in 1983 and started at a single race in the 50cc class (Imola). The rest of the story is common knowledge . . . ROAR build frames as the newer Minarelli and with the little GP-engine build up with 80cc. The frame you bought from Lemotorsport is a replica of the first Minarelli-Frame. It is beautiful and as you can see on the pics – I have the same, bought in Italy some years ago and sprayed it in Minarelli-Colours.
Enjoy it!

Divertirsi!

I migliori saluti e Servus from Austria

Hello Maurizio,

Yes, I did start at 2 historic Events in Tschechoslovakia - two hill climb races. In Olomouc I had the fastest time of all classes but was disqualified because the average speed was limited at 50 km/h. But we had a lot of fun and the tiny Minarelli runs nearly perfectly. I also had my old 80cc PCB-Minarelli at the start - it too runs perfectly with a new exhaust which I made during the winter.

I'm looking forward to take the Minarellis to events in Italy - but at the moment there is a lot of work to do in my office. There is a hill climb race in Landshaag today and I thougt about to start - but no way to do so because of too little time. It will be better from mid-summer on and I am willing to enjoy my days at some races - maybe in Italy too. I will let you know!

Hello Maurizio,

thank you for the Information . . the sprocket guard "Finne" in German, has been needed in Austria since 2015, to fit a red light would not be a problem at all. The historical registration form is an Austrian Problem . . . . I will also need it to race in Tschechoslovakia. There are more and more historical bikes here in Austria and all the drivers have the same Problem . . . . But I do thank you very much for your offer to help.

Hello Mabarda,

i'm looking forward to hear from your first test run . . . . . . and see more pics of your bike.

Best regards

Hello Maurizio,

thank you very much for your offer to help me with bureaucratic procedures. That is very kind and will surely help me a lot . . . . . . I do have an international license but what we do not have in Austria is a Kind of vehicle papers - but I'm working on it with the Austrian OSK to create a kind of official certification paper for historic bikes.

What I do not know ist if there are special technical specifications in Italy - my bike is buildt up to German specifications.

I'm looking forward to be part of some happenings in Italy as at Adria Raceway (which I know quite well).

Hello Mabarda

here some pics as I transformed my wheels to disc brake . . .

Ciao,

I see, you are going to transform the rear Kawasaki wheel from drum-brake to a disc-brake - I made the same thing - I also modified the left side of the rim so that I can use the same Grimeca sprockets which I have on my PCB and the Testi Champion my boy is drivin'.

Ciao "Mabarda",

Thank you , yes, it's a beautiful bike and performing quite well. You are doing a great job with your Minarelli. It is nearls ready for spraying, in't it? Hope to manage to start at some hill climb races in Italy next year as I did with my Steyr Puch 650 years ago - we always had lots of fun.

Ciao Heinz

Ciao a tutti

Here some pics of my Minarelli 50 GP - replica which I bought near Pisa on my way back from hollydays three years ago. The wheels and the engine and some other parts were missing other parts had to be replaced . . . but it's ready to race now. We don't have many of historic races here in Austria - but it isn't much to far to Italy . . . .

Hello Malanca70,

thank you for your positive Response. The first pictur schows the frame when it came back to light after 36 years in my cellar. It only needed some water and a lot of shampoo, that was the "Restoration". It was not really a lot of work to do, I had only to undo some modifications I made when I rode the bike in the 70ies. Here a pic before restoration.

[IMG][/IMG]

I had only to change the fairing, the footrests and exhaust and some other little things, service the Brakes and put all parts together. Ready.

Ciao und Servus from Austria

Heinz
