Hello

Thank you for the info.
I will see if I can get my hands on a new exhaust, think they will be easier to find in Italy than here in Holland. we will see.

So you have to slam the blocking points out and then it will be OK?

Ciao Louis,
Ciao

The exhaust came in today, it looks pretty good. (Now its straight and horizontal)

The old one does look a bid more sporty at the end (more pointier), but this one clearly looks better
Will try to remove the blockingg points this weekend.

Ciao Louis,

Its weekend so I could do a little bit more
The target is to let here run, hopefully I will get there tomorrow.

I started with the ignition, first clamping it all.
20210410_134908

Then soldering,
20210410_135854

Then adjust the ignition exactly at 30 degrees
20210410_154848

Checked it with a timing light.

Then it looks like I have a replica exhaust, as there is no bridge.
The narrowed it in the middle, need to make some space there.
20210410_16131920210410_162142

Changed the mounting point, as that slide thing won't hold long I think.
20210410_170106

Looking good now.
20210410_174159

Also working out an idea for the rpm meter.
I had my mounted ones, but there seem to be a adjustment module for sale. (so i can adjust the rpm lower)
The idea is this:
20210410_173800
20210410_173823

Found a other type, try to clean it.
20210410_19172320210410_193229

Its better then the modern green type.
20210410_200108
20210410_200130

It also has a small potentiometer inside.
If this works good, will try to get my hands on a nice looking one.

She is alive :)

Of course she needs a better tuning, but the first impression is good.
No smoke and she sounds mechanical all right.

First, I needed to make a plug, while spinning with the drill I noticed Oil is coming from the shaft?
Have looked at the parts manual but can't see how it original is closed so make a Plug with an O-ring and tap it in tight

20210411_104109
20210411_105011
20210411_112801
20210411_113248

Then made some spacers for the mounting bracket.
20210411_114708
20210411_120453_0_
20210411_133852_0_

Then I pushed her outside to see how the exhaust looks and the stand
Made them vertical as I could
20210411_133442
20210411_133318

Asked the wife is she was willing to record me for the first sound she makes

I'm happy with the first results, she is still not ready, but in big lines this will be it.
Now I need to focus on the carb jetting and ignition, after that I can ride the first block round the house.....

Kind regards
Louis

Sadly do with the construction of the carb the trumpet setup does not work correct.
The inlet circuit is designed to have an airflow passing by, with the trumpet I'm blocking that process. Although the station air inlet is open it does not have the power to suck its air to the mixture tube.
reee_0jghjghj

This means I need to use the stock 9mm carbs. (it is all right, as I wanted to start testing from a stock setup)
Found a nice looking one with the parts.
20210411_18354420210411_185413

Now it is running stationair

Ciao Louis,

Ciao
Roberto

Ciao Roberto,

CITAZIONE

That is the plan.
I like to test all the different setup's from a Motom.

First setup (stock head with 9mm carb)
Fine tuning will be at the carb and ignition.
Ones she is setup right will go to my dyno and measure it.

Second setup (stock head 12mm carb)
Fine tuning will be at the carb and ignition.
Ones she is setup right will go to my dyno and measure it

Third setup (15 exhaust 18 inlet with 12mm carb)
Fine tuning will be at the carb and ignition.
Ones she is setup right will go to my dyno and measure it

Etc etc.

Then heads with larger valves, also testing larger carbs

This will be my test Motom :)

CITAZIONE
PS: il tuo carburatore sembra nuovo, come hai fatto a pulirlo così bene?

I didn't clean it, it was like this. (Build this engine with the speare parts from my last buy)

The carb is from a Zappa engine, think the former owner sand blasted it.

Kind regards
Louis

Ps. I lost my note with names from this forum.
Will start again.
Motomrrad = Roberto
Alluminio = ?
Serafino49 = Serafino
Carlo Alpago = Carlo
Fabiocds = Fabio
Etc

Ciao a tutti,
